Lexikon des Mittelalters

  • Important new content and functionalities that are available include:
    • The German headwords translated into English and into normalised vocabulary and, where necessary, descriptive identifiers supplied
    • Built-in German-English dictionary
    • 'Live link' to Select Bibliography and Cumulative Bibliography (from the International Medieval Bibliography)
  • Further changes scheduled for February 2004:
    • Improved interface (similar to Europa Sacra)
    • German abbreviations expanded and translated via the built-in German-English dictionary
    • Integration of illustrations and genealogical trees
    • Cross-references (from alternative forms of names and places or synonyms of subjects)
    • French and German interfaces
    • Embedded font for better presentation of foreign characters

  • Attention:
    • Diacritics in LexMA: depending on the browser you use diacritics may not in all cases be presented correctly in LexMA.
    • Hyperlinks: Because the trial version does not contain all articles some of the hyperlinks may lead to information that is not yet present in the database and therefore will not work correctly.
    • Diacritics in the IMB: when the user goes to theIMB search screen via the button 'Current Bibliography' (live link), the imported diacritics may not be presented correctly. This technical problem will be resolved by the end of November.
