The International Directory of Medievalists Online is the continuation of the printed editions and contains 15,000 names and addresses of specialists from over 70 different countries with for the majority their fields of study. The aim is to further develop and update it permanently in the coming years and to enrich the information.

The "International Medieval Institute", based at the University of Leeds, is responsible for producing the bibliography. A uniqe network of over 50 specialist contributors and teams throughout the world ensures regular coverage of periodicals and miscellanies published worldwide. They are supported by a distinguished international Editorial Board.
The database is searchable by name, place, university, and field of study.
IDM is an indispensable tool for libraries and institutions as well as for scholars.

The International Directory of Medievalists was compiled by means of international collaboration in the context of the work undertaken by the Fédération Internationale des Instituts d'Etudes Médiévales (F.I.D.E.M.), which operates under the auspices of UNESCO.
